BREAKING GENERATIONAL CURSES

6 And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth,

7 keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”

39 And those of you who are left shall waste away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; also in their fathers’ iniquities, which are with them, they shall waste away.

40 ‘But if they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, with their unfaithfulness in which they were unfaithful to Me, and that they also have walked contrary to Me,

No ancestral voice shall drown out the voice of the Holy Spirit in your life, in the name of Jesus.

THE MESSAGE:

A curse is a word spoken to invite a supernatural power to inflict harm or injury on someone, place or thing, as the case may be. As a Christian, when you offend God, you can attract a curse to your life. Deut. 28:15-68 lists various curses arising from sinning against God. A generation is the constituent group of people, family or nation with its specific behavioural way of life that lived in a particular time and space.

What they did can affect the next generation, whether good or bad. What are generational curses? They are afflictions, pains, woes, misfortunes, etc, passed from one generation to another. These are negative behavioural patterns transferred from one group of people to another group of the same bloodline.

Paul writing to his spiritual son, Timothy, in 2 Tim. 1:5, makes this very revealing observation: “When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois and thy mother Eunice…” The ‘unfeigned faith’ found in Timothy’s life was passed to him from his grandmother. The same way an evil behavioural pattern can be transmitted down the line of generations except it is consciously broken by serious prayers.

There are many indicators of generational curses to be noted and be dealt with through serious deliverance prayers: chronic barrenness, poverty, untimely death, various emotional disorder, drunkenness, sexual immorality, alcoholism, failure at the edge of breakthrough, depression, addictions , drug abuse, and so on. What do you do to break these evil patterns? You should become a born again Christian and you should repent of all your sins. Run to God for help. Pray enquiry prayers to know the root of the problem.

You should also go for deliverance in order to break the evil flow in your bloodline to you. Finally, you should live pure and maintain a healthy life of friendship with God. Beloved, the good news is that the death of Jesus on the cross has delivered you from the evil impacts of generational curses as confirmed in Gal 3:13, “Christ hath redeemed you from the curse of the law being made a curse for you, for it is written, cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree.”

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

1. O God, empower me to succeed in what You have designed me for, in the name of Jesus.
2. Every evil remote control wand from my father’s house, affecting my life, scatter, in the name of Jesus.
3. Every evil power pursuing my life to bring me into bondage, die, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

4. Evil pattern that disgraced the glory of my parents and is working against me now, break and release me, in the name of Jesus.
5. Every curse of destiny failure working against me, break by fire, in the name of Jesus.
6. I shall not dance before the idols of my father’s house, in the name of Jesus.
7. Problems of like-father-like-son and like-mother-like-daughter, opposing my progress, die, in the name of Jesus.
