MORE THAN A CONQUEROR

20TH September, 2021

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:  Ezra 7-10

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Romans 8:35-39

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

MEMORY VERSE:” Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” – Romans 8:37

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:  In Christ lives my victory.

PRAISE WORSHIP: Take a worship song as led by the Holy Spirit

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:

THE LORD WILL GIVE YOU THE POWER TO OVERCOME, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

The MESSAGE:

Life is a battle and not just a preparation for battle. Job 14:1 says, “Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.” Life is also a problem solving process, as you solve one, another battle emerges. As a believer, the moment you declare Jesus Christ as your Lord and Personal Saviour, you have unconsciously drawn a battle line between you and the devil.

The battle of life does not have regard for any human status. Christians are not exempted from it. The truth is that there is no victory without contest. For you to be a conqueror you must have been involved in one contest or the other and come out victorious. As it is in the physical, so it is in the spiritual. The devil and his hosts are always seeking to be in conflict with Christians. Thank God for Jesus who has secured our victory on the cross at Calvary (Colossians 2:14-15).

A conqueror is an overcomer, a champion, a person that cannot be defeated by the enemy, a victorious person. On the contrary, whoever fails to be a conqueror will eventually become a victim of satanic defeat and always be at the mercy of the enemy. Such a person will end up being unable to fulfil his divine purpose. That will not be your portion, in Jesus’ name.

Having established all these, how can one be more than a conqueror? You must confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Personal Saviour. You must turn away from your wicked ways. You must face the battle of life with certainty, with assurance that you are a winner! This is because in Christ you are assured of your victory before embarking on the battle. He who is more than a conqueror smiles at the storm because Christ is the vessel. David demonstrated this before Goliath, he declared himself a winner before the battle started (1 Samuel 17). Remember that He also fights on behalf of His children. All through the Old Testament, God proved Himself as a Man of War.

The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is our ticket to victory over satan and his cohorts. As a true believer in Christ, you are an overcomer already through Jesus Christ who loved you and died for you.
