JESUS.
The MESSAGE:
Leading
with love means knowing and caring about what inspires and empowers people. It
is about caring enough to know what is important to them and helping them to
succeed. The key to successful leadership is to lead with love which is of
immense benefits to the leader and the followers.
True
leaders are honest and transparent. True leadership is the ability to lead and
bring about the expected change in others.
True
leaders have some distinguishing characteristics. Let us examine some of them.
They have clear goals and work to achieve them. They have vision and what it
takes to accomplish it. They are bold and courageous. They are humble. They
encourage their followers to succeed rather than punishing them for every error
or loss. They build their people up and earn their respect each day.
True
leaders also demonstrate genuine love and care towards others. They are
generous and sacrificial givers. They have the shepherd's heart and are willing
to lay down their lives for the flock. Jesus remains our perfect example in
leading with love. He was humble to the core. He even washed the feet of His
disciples to demonstrate His humility and the fact that true leaders focus on
serving others.
Like
Jesus, a true leader should instruct others in godly living. His teaching
should first be through the life that he lives. He should teach others how to
live self-controlled, exemplary and fruitful lives (Titus 2:1-10). A true
leader should also teach their people to be excellent employees, not stealing,
not rebelling against their employer's authority, always loyal and never
injuring their employer's reputation.
True
leaders who drive their vision with love, win the heart of their followers and
the support of heaven. Dear leader, to love is also to forgive others freely.
God demonstrated His love towards us by giving us a second chance, forgiving
our sins and restoring us to the place of favour we once had with Him. He
expects you to be loving and kind to your subjects and followers as well.
Leaders that are tyrannical, cruel, oppressive and insensitive to the feelings
of the followers are not modeling Christ. Beloved, following the example of
Jesus will make you a true leader.
