LONG SUFFERING: FRUIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 

13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.

THE MESSAGE:

Longsuffering is the quality of being patient. It is the ability to cheerfully bear an unbearable situation and patiently endure. The natural man is impatient. The world is full of impatience, even in the house of God. All what people are looking for is microwave help, blessings and miracles.

They want everything snappily and are not ready to patiently wait on God for the appointed time. That is why you see people moving from one church to the other because they believe God is not answering their request as fast as they want. Many of such wandering Christians often find themselves in the trap of satan. Many have turned God to a fire brigade officer. Their slogan is “Now! Now!”

Patient people will display endurance and perseverance. Longsuffering will make you to be patient in the face of serious challenges. It is a quality of God. He patiently waits for the lost to come to Him. 2 Peter 3:9 says God is not slack concerning His promise. He may have seemed slow but, beloved, God is not slow but waiting for the sinners to come to repentance.

No one is ever going to be perfect here on earth; so we must accept and love people in spite of their faults. Be patient and be gentle with others. Is there anyone whose action really annoys you? Be patient with such (Eph. 4:2). Is there anything you have been praying to God about? Be patient; He will surely answer you at the right time. Though it may seems delayed, but note that delay is never a denial.

In addition, longsuffering will give you good health and help you to achieve your life goals. However, you may not be able to fully live a life of long suffering all by yourself; you need the help of the Holy Spirit.

Longsuffering is an exercise in self-control. Tell the Holy Spirit to give you this wonderful fruit.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

1. O Lord, grant me the grace to follow after your footsteps, in the name of Jesus Christ.

2. The spirit of impatience, you will not destroy me after the order of King Saul, in the name of Jesus Christ.

3. Holy Spirit, help me to walk according to the divine timing for my life, in the name of Jesus Christ.

EVENING

4. Holy Ghost fire , destroy everything in me that is not of God, in the name of Jesus.

5. Enemies of spiritual growth in my life, die by fire, in the name of Jesus.

6. Fire of God, overhaul my life, in the name of Jesus.

7. Spirit of the Living God, envelop my life, in the name of Jesus.
