Mountain Top Life DAILY DEVOTIONAL

MYSTERY AND BLESSING OF DEDICATION (I)

1ST JANUARY, 2022

BIBLE IN ONE YEARGenesis 1, Genesis 2:1-17, Matthew 1:1-25, Psalm 1:1-6

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Luke 2:24-40
24 and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of the Lord, “A pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.”

25 And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

 27 So he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom of the law,

28 he took Him up in his arms and blessed God and said:

29 “Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, According to Your word;
30 For my eyes have seen Your salvation
31 Which You have prepared before the face of all peoples,
32 A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of Your people Israel.”

33 And Joseph and His mother marveled at those things which were spoken of Him.

34 Then Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary His mother, “Behold, this Child is destined for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which will be spoken against

35 (yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul also), that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.”

36 Now there was one, Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was of a great age, and had lived with a husband seven years from her virginity;

37 and this woman was a widow of about eighty-four years, who did not depart from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

38 And coming in that instant she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of Him to all those who looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

39 So when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own city, Nazareth.

40 And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.

MEMORY VERSE: ” Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” John 12:24

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:

A great year starts and ends with making good decisions. Give your life and the New Year as a seed to God and you will flourish exceptionally.

PRAISE WORSHIP: Take a worship song as led by the Holy Spirit.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:

AS YOU PLACE YOUR LIFE AND JOURNEY IN GOD'S HAND THIS YEAR, I PROPHESY THAT IT SHALL BE A SWEET MEMORIAL FOR YOU, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

THE MESSAGE:

    As the year 2022 begins, the utmost desire of many people is to be all-season fruit-bearing trees, flourish like the palm tree and grow as the cedar in Lebanon (Psalm 92:12). This is in line with the will of God for His children. However, many people only focus on this goal but fail to consider the conditions they need to fulfil in order to actualise it. Beloved, your life is a seed. You must surrender it to God and plant it in His hand for it to blossom. You also need to place it on the altar of sacrifice for your desired change of story to become a reality. This act of completely committing your life to God is called dedication.

    The mustard seed is small and insignificant, but when planted, it becomes a big tree upon which birds perch and live. In the same way, no matter how small and insignificant your life is at the moment, if you dedicate it to God in service and worship, it will blossom and you will become very great. This is a secret I want you to run with in this extraordinary year. The turnaround you so much desire will become a reality; your delayed miracles and long-awaited testimonies will manifest as you dedicate your life to God. It is important to note that your all-round fulfilment is tied to your dedication. I encourage you to heed Jesus' advice in John 12:24 (our Memory Verse for today) and give your life as a seed to God.

    In Luke 9:23 and Matthew 4:19, Jesus said, "Follow me, I will make you..." It was a call for dedication and service. Simon Peter heeded the call and got truly dedicated to God; he became the foremost apostle, God's battle axe in the early church and a world changer for Christ. He is still being mentioned in glowing terms today though he left the earth 2000 years ago. Beloved, such are the immeasurable blessings of dedication. As you dedicate your life to God in this New Year, may your life, ministry, career, business, marriage and finance blossom and flourish immensely, in the name of Jesus.
