CHRIST, THE IMAGE OF THE INVISIBLE GOD

EXTRA READING FOR TODAY: Numbers 34-36

[13]Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

EXPOSITION 

God is the Creator of both Heaven and earth, and all their fullness (Psa. 24:1). He has placed His begotten Son, Jesus, at the centre that all may access Him, in order to see and know Him, because of His invisibility. In Christ is the full revelation of God; He is all that the Father is. He is not second to God, but God in the original sense, Who has been invisible since creation. He is the same God Adam fellowshipped with in the Garden, the One Abraham walked with when He was going to see things for Himself in Sodom, as well as the One Moses saw His backside and performed wonders in Egypt and wilderness. That same God has made Himself real to us in Jesus Christ, His Son, His Word, Who became flesh that we may behold and believe Him.

Why did Jesus come so real? He came to rescue us from the power of sin and darkness, to transfer us from darkness to light, to redeem us from all evils, and to give us all physical and spiritual blessings (1 Cor. 15:54-57). Jesus Christ has such power and authority, because by Him, all things were created, both visible and invisible, thrones, kingdoms and deeps, etc., through Him and for Him, and that includes you (Eph. 1:20-21; Col. 1:16).

The question is, why do you still set up graven images of gold, animals, trees, birds, stones, etc.? Why are you sealing up your heart against Him? For you to see and enjoy God Almighty and be all that He wants you to be, set up Christ before you and continue to look unto Him until your joy is full (Heb. 12:2). All have been designed to pass through Him that all may be with Him forever. Dear reader, the ball is in your court. Play it well, and welcome Him fully into your life.

PRAYER POINT:

1. Lord, I want to know You more and more; reveal Yourself to me always.

2. Lord, help me to reach the full potential of the image of what You have deposited in me.

3. Father, please bring back erring ministers who have detached themselves from You.
