LIVING WATER DAILY DEVOTIONAL

YOUR SPIRITUAL ARMOUR

6TH , APRIL 2022

EXTRA READING FOR TODAY: 2 Samuel 7-10

READ: 2 Corinthians 10:1-6
[1]Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:
[2]But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
[3]For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
[4](For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
[5]Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
[6]And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

MEMORISE: "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. " –Ephesians 6:11

EXPOSITION

In June 1944, after a 24-hour weather delay, just before the invasion of Normandy, France, where gathered the largest military operation in the history of warfare, a famous letter was read to the "soldiers, sailors, and airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Forces," issued by General Eisenhower, saying: "Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well equipped and battle-hardened. He will fight savagely." Here, the General wanted his troops to understand the grim reality of the battle that awaited them because failure to do so would only lead to greater casualties.

Ponder on that scene and you will catch a clue of how terribly fierce our daily spiritual warfare has been since the Fall and redemption of Man. The enemy said, 'I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my desire shall be satisfied on them. I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.' You blew with Your wind, the sea covered them; they sank like lead in the mighty waters (Exod. 15:9-11). And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force (Matt. 11:12).

Many Christians are yet to grasp the reality of the spiritual warfare and the enemy, Satan, we are engaging. But thank God for the divine provided spiritual armour for our already settled victory in the warfare (Eph. 6:13-18). No Christian should be deceived that Satan is a caricature. The Bible speaks of the devil being a real foe; he is mentioned more than 100 times (1 Pet. 5:8). Yet, he is made powerless by the finished work of Christ. Hallelujah! We are fighting from victory to victory, assured of Christ's victory over Satan (Rom. 16:20; 1 Cor. 15:57; Rev. 12:11).

Dear reader, to win our spiritual warfare, better than the invasion of Normandy, France, is to always put on the whole armour of God, and walk worthy of our callings in Christ Jesus. Don't go anywhere without putting on your spiritual armour.

    PRAYER POINT:

      1. I wear my spiritual armour; I shall not be disgraced in battle of life, in Jesus' name.
      2. Holy Spirit, equip me with every weapon I need to win the battles of this life, in Jesus' name.
      3. Pray for CAC Anosike Region, our father in the Lord, the Superintendent, and its officers at the various levels, as led by the Spirit of God.

    DO HAVE A BLESSED DAY
