LIVING WATER DAILY DEVOTIONAL
THE VERY LAST CHANCE
30TH , JUNE 2022
EXTRA READING FOR TODAY: Psalms 96-102
READ: Luke 13:6-9
6
And he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he
came seeking fruit on it and found none.
7
And he said to the vinedresser, ‘Look, for three years now I have come seeking
fruit on this fig tree, and I find none. Cut it down. Why should it use up the
ground?’
8
And he answered him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it
and put on manure.
9
Then if it should bear fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut
it down.’”
MEMORISE: “For everything there is a season, and a
time for every matter under heaven:” -Ecclesiastes 3v1
EXPOSITION
The owner of the field in today's text was disappointed with the
unproductive fig tree, because he and his gardner had done the necessary on it
to produce bountifully. The purpose of his investment on the tree had been
defeated. Many today are sources of disappointment to their parents, leaders,
and most sadly, God. All investments on them over the years have yielded no
result.

The inefficiency of a man wouldn't be allowed forever. Both man and God would not tolerate endlessly, despite the mercifulness and longsuffering of God. Always remember that the space/office God has given you to occupy is important to Him, and wouldn't allow it to waste. Of course, there are others who are equally, or even more qualified. You aren't the only useful one. Prophet Elijah thought he was the only faithful last man standing on God's side. God cut him short to tell him that He had 7,000 reserved (1 Kgs.19v18).
Never think that you are
indispensable. If you think you have accomplished very bogus feats, so
difficult for others to achieve, you will be surprised to see how God would
raise others, more effective within the shortest period. Eschew pride lest you
be changed. God won't allow you to continue to waste His precious resources and
investments in you. Even man wouldn't allow his hard-earned resources to be
wasted; stop the insolence!

The
productiveness of Jeroboam, Solomon's servant, was the reason why God gave him
ten out of twelve tribes of Israel (1 Kings 11v28-37). This is an indication
that God is keen on our duties and services. The man with one talent would have
had it forever if not that he refused to trade with it. Do not let God replace
you. He is giving you another privilege to be productive in that which He
commit into your hands.
PRAYER POINT:
1. Call upon God to have mercy on you, wherever you
have missed His purpose, and put you back on track.
2. Pray that God will help you, henceforth, not to
waste His precious resources.
3. Pray that the messages/sermons in our churches
will be empowered as good seed, falling on fertile grounds in the heart of
every listener.
DO HAVE A BLESSED DAY
