LIVING WATER DAILY DEVOTIONAL
NEW, BUT NO RENEWAL
5TH , JULY 2022
EXTRA READING FOR
TODAY: Psalms 119
READ: Isaiah 40:28-31
28 Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not
faint or grow weary; there is no searching of His understanding.
29 He gives power to the faint and weary,
and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and
making it to abound].
30 Even youths shall faint and be weary,
and [selected] young men shall feebly stumble and fall exhausted;
31 But those who wait for the Lord [who
expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and
power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount
up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint
or become tired.
MEMORISE: “Do not be conformed to this world (this
age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but
be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new
ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is
the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good
and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].” - Romans 12:2
EXPOSITION
Anything new means something already existing but seen,
experienced, or acquired recently, or now, for the first time. It could be a
car, land, house, wear, facility, etc. To renew, from which the word renewal is
derived, means to extend the period of validity of something. Your passport,
driver's license, vehicle papers, etc. need renewal to extend the period of
usage. Failure or neglect leads to avoidable embarrassments.

The greatest gift
of God to humanity is Salvation, and it is free. Many have received the gift
without waiting in the Giver to open up all the treasures therein to them. Our
response is to ensure that we daily renew our changed hearts through God's
Word. The world is full of vices of the enemy that can pollute the gift of God
that we possess (1 Pet.5v8). No wonder the Bible says, *Do not be conformed to
this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind,* (Romans 12v2a).

Dear devout, you
cannot renew what has not first be new. No matter how good and of best quality
they come, experience have shown that machines that are poorly maintained, their
lifespan is short-lived. The question is, have you been made new (2 Cor. 5v17)?
Have you been washed by the cleansing blood of the Lamb? If yes,
congratulations! But that is not sufficient enough. You need to grow up in all
things into the full stature of Christ, our Head (Eph. 4v13, c.f. Rom.8v29).
Regularly observe your quiet time, fellowship with Christ minded brethren, go
for retreats, and obey the Lord. And if you are yet to be new, Jesus is calling
you today (Isa.1v18, Matt.11v28).

their pockets.
3. Pray for CAC Essien region, our father in the
