SIGNS OF THE TIMES (3)

FIRE SCRIPTURE:  Luke 21:5-13

 

5 Then, as some spoke of the temple, how it was [a]adorned with beautiful stones and donations, He said, 

6 “These things which you see—the days will come in which not one stone shall be left upon another that shall not be thrown down.”

7 So they asked Him, saying, “Teacher, but when will these things be? And what sign will there be when these things are about to take place?”

8 And He said: “Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ [b]Therefore do not [c]go after them. 

9 But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately.”

10 Then He said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

11 And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. 

12 But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake. 13 But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗔𝗥𝗥𝗢𝗪 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗨𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗟𝗨𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝗦𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗧 𝗬𝗢𝗨, 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗔𝗠𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗝𝗘𝗦𝗨𝗦.

 

 

THE MESSAGE

 

We need to be mindful more than ever before of the fact that we are drawing gradually to the end of times because of the numerous signs happening around the world today. While these signs are manifesting without inhibitions, countless number of men whose mind have been darkened by the devil are pretending not to see them.

 

Clearly, Jesus Christ mentioned famines (Matthew 24:7) as part of the signs of the times. And it is evident that there is chronic famine in many nations of the world today which has even been aggravated by the pandemic. It is so critical that, in some countries, people are making food from mud and they call such zero-nutrient food mud-cookies. Others make meal from clay turned to powder and later mixed with salt. In other places people are eating rotten meat and in some places too families go to garbage dump to search for leftover food which they cook again and then eat. And there is another country where children practically eat the dust of the earth as their meal. However, to believers, this is the promise of God for you and me: "They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satistied" (Psalm 37:19).

 

Furthermore, Jesus listed pestilences (Matthew 24:7) as another signs of the times. What is pestilence from biblical perspective? Pestilence is a devastating disaster, usually a disease that is either endemic or pandemic in nature. Pestilence is contagious, virulent, and brutal. Africans cannot forget in a hurry the Ebola scourge, and at present the whole world has been suffering from different variants and waves of Covid-19.

 

Earthquakes (Matthew 24:7) is also given as one of the signs. In the world today, many countries have experienced different magnitudes of earthquakes. Even in this country, there was earth tremor that happened in one of our cities not quite long.

 

Beloved, I believe you are following this mini exposition on The Signs of the Times. Christ Jesus can appear any moment from now. Have you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour? If your answer is No, please fall on your knees right now and cry to Him for the deliverance of your soul.

5. Whether the devil likes it or not, I shall end my journey well in the Lord, in the name of Jesus.

6. Agenda of wasters upon my life and destiny, scatter by fire, in the name of Jesus.

7. I receive grace to remain steadfast in the Lord till the end, in the name of Jesus.
