Mystery of Profitless Hard work

Today teaching is a continuation the Economic Deliverance series and it’s to battle against a terrible spirit that has affected so many people.

A lot of people have been victims of this spirit; this is the spirit that makes many to labor very hard with little or no returns on their labor. This spirit has tied many people down at the bottom of life; it’s a strange spirit indeed; it is the spirit of profitless hard work.

Mystery of profitless hard work

This spirit that has Denied many people of their inheritance; it has stolen so much from people.

It is tragic to hear of some people recount how much has passed through their hands; this is because if this money were allowed to stay in their hands, a lot of people would have been millionaires today.

The truth is that most people are not lazy to do work. Some even do multiple jobs especially abroad. Regardless of this, their economic destiny doors not add up. It is the mysterious power of this Power that has dominated such people s life and their effort are wasted.

 "And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets. And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink." {Luke 5:1-7}

May you encounter a net breaking miracle in the name of Jesus.

"Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, we also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing. But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus. Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, no. And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes." {John 21:3-6}

Jesus transformed peter from Fisher of fish to Fisher of men

When went back to his fishing business after Jesus was crucified but they caught nothing until Jesus Intervened.

May the lord intervene in your situation in Jesus name.

Here lies this spirit of profitless hard work in the life of Peter. They worked very hard over the night, yet no result.

Despite the fact that they had no reason to fail . . .

v They were professional fishermen.

v They understand the waters so well.

v They work very hard through the night.

v They were fishing at the right time.

v They had the necessary tools of work

. . . But still they did not succeed because of the spirit of profitless hard work

Symptoms of the spirit of profitless hard work.

Ø No commensurate rewarded for work.

Ø Work very hard but no success.

Ø Prepare hard for exam but no success.

Ø Prepare hard for interview for no success

Many have been working for several years but nothing to show

Ø Fruitless labor.

Ø Running without certainty or headway.

Ø Slippery breakthrough.

Ø Poverty spirit.

Ø Anti-prosperity powers.

Ø Failing where it should not be.

Ø Fish in unproductive waters

Ø Labor for Pharaoh: Laboring and pharaoh getting the profit.

Jesus gave a strange instruction

Jesus asked them to do the very thing they have been doing and they were failing.  They obeyed and got result.

May you overcome the spirit of profitless hard work confronting your destiny in the name of Jesus.
