THE Church & you _{{Part 1}}

There are a lot of misconceptions about the church; many people have allowed the church to become a snare unto them; the enemy has used to church as a deceptive tool to blind many people’s eyes. Several people have fallen into the hands of strange false prophet & have become candidates of bewitchment. Jesus Christ did not intend the church for this.

What Is The Church?

v The Church is the house of God.

v The Church is the Dwelling of the God.

v The Church is a place of Worship.

v The Church is a House of Prayer. “And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer . . .” {Mat 21:13}

v Christ is the Head of the Church.

There are Two Categories of the Church

The Church can be categorized into two;

1.)          The Local Church.

2.)          The Church in You.

The Local Church

You can see here in the province of Galatia; there were many churches; what we call local churches.

v The redeem, winners, catholic, Anglican and so on, are what we can refer to the local church. This is a local body of believers.

"Paul, an apostle—not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead. And all the brothers who are with me, to the churches of Galatia"{Gal 1:1-2}

The word “church” comes from the Greek word ekklesia which is defined as “an assembly” or “called-out ones.”

ü The root meaning of “church” is not that of a building, but of people.

ü It is ironic that when you ask people what church they attend, they usually identify a building.

Romans 16:5 says “… greet the church that is in their house.”

Paul refers to the church in their house; not a church building, but a body of believers.

v We can see the history of the church in Acts 11; Barnabas and Paul spent a year in Antioch at the beginning of Paul’s ministry.

“For a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people” {Act 11:26}

v Notice it is with the church; it doesn’t say “in” or “at.”

 “With” indicates participation.

The Antioch church is described as a group of people and not a building.

v Apostle Paul made more clarification

"If the whole church comes together in one place. …” {1 Cor 14:23}

If the Church can “come together,” it certainly doesn’t sound like it is a building.

"He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."{Mathew 16:15-19}

The Revelation of the Church

In the scriptures above, you can see a great Question of Revelation been asked by Jesus. Jesus Asked Who Men say that I am? {QUESTION OF IDENTITY OF JESUS}

It was Peter that was able to key into the revelation by the power of God; Peter said: “Thou Are Christ “ The revelation of  the Identity of Christ.

The Greatest Revelation of all time is that the Church will be built on the Identity of Jesus Christ.

The Church is not built on Peter; Peter is not the foundation of Church. Jesus was using the name of Peter as a symbolism.

Peter was derived, via the  Latin  word "petra", from the Greek word πέτρος (petros) meaning "stone" or "rock". According to the New Testament, Jesus gave Saint Peter (whose given name was Simon) the name Kephas or Cephas meaning "stone" in Aramaic.

v The Church is built On the Identity Of Christ

What does the Identity of Christ symbolize?

ü Lord : can be seen as the master that rules over all.

ü Emmanuel :which also means "God with us” ; symbolizes the presence of God the Father

ü Messiah: one that delivers and liberates.

ü Saviour: To save from trouble and harm.

ü The Son of God: The Second in the Trinity

ü The Lamb of God: The sacrifice of God for Us.

ü The Good Shepherd: The Guardian that guide & protect .

ü the Redeemer: The one that Buys Us Back from Bondage

ü the Prince of Peace: Brings peace and Calm to all trouble

ü Wonderful: Great, Magnificent & Superb.

ü Counselor: Teaches and show the way

ü The Mighty God: Manifestation of the Power of God the Father.                                                                                    {Isa9:6-7}

Jesus Asked Who Men say that I am? {QUESTION OF IDENTITY OF JESUS}

Peter answered: “Thou Are Christ “ The revelation of  the Identity of Christ.

Prayer Points

1.   Father Lord; I shall not be a spiritual hypocrite in the name of Jesus.

2.   O Lord, Strengthen my inner man in the name of Jesus.

3.   Let God inject into me spiritual vitamins that will clear my vision and strengthen its clarity, in the name of Jesus

4.   Father, Empower me to be rooted deep in love in the name of Jesus.

5.   Father Lord, let me know and experience the power of your resurrection in the name of Jesus.

6.   Lord God, inject into me divine immunity that will always kill spiritual germs and evil deposits in me in the name of Jesus.

7.   Lord Jesus, grant me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the name of Jesus.

8.   Lord God, inject into me the spiritual energy that will make me tirelessly with you in the name of Jesus.

9.   Lord God, feed me with the food of the champions in the name of Jesus.

10.                   Lord Jesus; illuminate the eyes of my understanding in the name of Jesus.

11.                   Lord God, boost my energy to run the race set before me in the name of Jesus.

12.                   Father Lord fills me with the fruits of righteousness in the name of Jesus.

13.                   I receive the comforting power in the Holy Ghost, in the name of Jesus
