Mountain Top Life DAILY DEVOTION

7TH September, 2021

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ezekiel 46-48

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Psalms 63:1-6

1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.

5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:

6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

MEMORY VERSE: “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” – Psalms 16:11

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
God is always with you, even in the darkest night or in the deepest pit. All you need is to hold on unto Him. Never doubt His presence and His power. He will see you through.

PRAISE WORSHIP: Take a worship song as led by the Holy Spirit

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:
I DECREE THAT THE PRESENCE OF GOD SHALL NOT BECOME A SCARCE COMMODITY IN YOUR LIFE, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

The MESSAGE:

Seeking God’s presence means to have an intimate personal relationship with Him. It is to set your heart and mind on Him or to focus your affection on Him (1 Chronicles 22:19). It also means to pursue Him alone and allow Him to fill the vacuum in your life. It is to desire more of Him always (Psalms 63:1).

The presence of God is the key to power in your life. Jesus told the disciples to stay in the Upper Room until they receive the power to become His witnesses (Acts 1:8). You can only receive the power of God when you stay in His presence.

God wanted Adam and Eve to enjoy His presence forever. He would go to have fellowship with them every day, but disobedience drove them away from His presence. Adam became afraid of God’s face. Sin will create fear in you and it will drive you away from the presence of God as it did to Adam and Eve (Genesis 3:7-8). A guilty conscience is a warning signal that God placed inside you and goes off when you’ve done wrong. God desires to look for people who seek to be in His presence always (Psalms 53:2).

God promised to reward those who diligently seek after Him (Hebrews 11:6). He also promised that when you draw nigh unto Him, He also would draw nigh unto you (James 4:8). You draw nigh unto God by first, submitting yourself to Him. Secondly, you need His forgiveness and your own willingness to follow Him. Also, resist the devil. Don’t allow him to entice and tempt you. Be cleansed from sin and embrace holiness. Finally, humble yourself before God and He will lift you up (James 4:7-10; 1 Peter 5:5). You will enjoy His promises of fullness of joy and will not lack any good thing (Psalms 34:10). You will be highly blessed because you have found Him (Psalms 119:2; 1 Chronicles 15:2).

Therefore, beloved, seek the presence of God by singing His praises with thanksgiving (Psalms 95:2; Psalms 100:2-4). But if you are not yet born again, you cannot enter His presence. A life without Jesus Christ cannot enjoy these privileges. Invite Him to your life in order to gain access to the presence of God.
