Mountain Top Life DAILY DEVOTION
Caring With a Godly Heart (I I)
9TH September, 2021
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Daniel 1, Daniel 2, Daniel 3
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Matt. 25: 41-46
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the
left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the
devil and his angels:
42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in:
naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44 Then shall they also answer him, saying,
Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or
sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I
say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it
not to me.
46 And these shall go away into everlasting
punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
MEMORY VERSE:”And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due
season we shall reap, if we faint not.” – Galatians 6:9
MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
Caring people seek to help others not because they expect a
reward, but simply as an act of kindness.
PRAISE WORSHIP: Take a worship
song as led by the Holy Spirit
PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:
The
Lord God that sees and rewards kindness accordingly shall reward you of every
well doing, in the name of Jesus.
The MESSAGE:
We are called to love our
fellow men as ourselves and do unto them as we want others to do to us. This is
the Golden Rule (Matt. 7:12). Do you love yourself? Do you love and care for
others the way you desire that others should care for you? It is a divine
reciprocity (Eccl. 4:7-9).
In
addition, the God-kind of caring should be done from a clean heart and pure
conscience, not only to believers, but also to unbelievers if by any means you
are able to win them to Christ through your generous attitude. The early Church
was a caring Church! Just as Jesus demonstrated and instructed them in John
15:12, so they did and taught Christians at that time to do, especially in the
household of God (Gal. 6: 9).
In
the book of the Acts of the Apostles, Dorcas and Lydia were women who cared for
the members of God’s household. Dorcas made clothes for the widows, while Lydia
opened her door for the ministers of God by attending to their needs, as well
as the church in her house (Acts 9:36, 16: 13-15). Cornelius was a generous and
devout man who, though a Gentile, was found faithful by God, who remembered him
and sent Peter to him.
In
response, he and his entire household did not only get converted but received
the baptism of the Holy Ghost instantly (Acts 10). All these are living
examples. Beloved, what is your level of concern to the poor in your church and
environment? Have you ever considered the word of God on faith and works as
needful before God? We are called as the body of Christ to care for one another
(1Cor. 12).
Iron
sharpens iron (Prov. 27:17). Pray and ask God for a heart that is ready to
extend love, labour and substance to others. Many lives are waiting to feel
that arm of love extended to them. God is waiting to bless these kind-hearted
people.
Remember,
love, kindness, goodness are all part of the fruit of the Spirit. The Bible
says if you don’t get weary at doing good, there is a sure reward for you! Let
your works and your faith do the caring. Minister to people’s need in whatever
ramification; do all to the glory of God.
