HEALING BY THE WORD

7TH DECEMBER, 2021

BIBLE IN ONE YEARRomans 14 - 16

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Matthew 8: 5-10

5 Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him,

saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.”

7 And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”

8 The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.

9 For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

10 When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!

MEMORY VERSE: ” He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. ” Psalm 107:20

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:

The great concern is not whether you are sick, but whether you are content with your sickness.

PRAISE WORSHIP: Take a worship song as led by the Holy Spirit.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:
AS THE LORD LIVES, THAT BED OF AFFLICTION SHALL NOT BE YOUR GRAVE, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

THE MESSAGE:

The word of God is your best health insurance. You must, therefore, pay attention to the word for it to do you good. You must focus on it and you must concentrate on the part of it that has to do with your situation. This word of God is powerful. It is medicine, health-giving, life-giving and an effective cure-all.

Most of us underestimate the power of our words. When we fall sick, we talk about the sickness as if we own it and claim ownership of it. We say, “My headache, my stomach ache, my back ache.” All these expressions are powerful and they reinforce whatever it is that is wrong in our body system.

Beloved, I want you to take a look at the Fire Scripture for today. When the centurion said his servant was grievously tormented, Jesus said, “I will come and heal him.” Then the centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof, but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed” (Matthew 8: 6-8).

The centurion must have heard about Jesus. He knew that just a simple word from Him would heal his servant, and when Jesus actually spoke the word, it was so. We can also activate our healing by believing totally in the word of God. Today’s memory verse says, “He sent His word and it healed them, and delivered them from their destruction” (Psalm 107:20).

The word is packed with healing, restoration and life. God wants you and me to receive our healing through His word as a result of the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary. Arise and shine. That bed of sickness will not swallow you. The word of God on the pages of the Bible is as potent and wonder-working as the word Jesus spoke to heal the centurion’s servants and many others in His earthly ministry.

I encourage you to rise up in faith, gather as many healing scriptures as possible, begin to pray with them, claiming all the healing promises for yourself or the person you are interceding for. If you have faith, you will surely see the glory of God!
