EXTRA READING FOR TODAY: Numbers 1-2

READ: Exodus 3:1-4

[1]Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.
[2]And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.
[3]And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.
[4]And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.

EXPOSITION

We live in a very busy world. Everyone is busy doing one thing or the other. The irony of it is that many people are busy doing nothing. The implication of this is the tendency for us to become so busy to the point of forgetting or neglecting the essentials of life. Many people have become so busy only to discover at the end of life that they have failed to live fruitful and fulfilled lives. There comes a time in man's life that he needs to stop, look and listen like Moses did, at Horeb, according to our text for today.

We often miss God's attempt to get our attention from our busy schedule, because we fail to observe what seems to be ordinary events of life. Moses was probably not the only one who saw the bush burning, but he was the only one who stopped to give attention to the sight - spiritual sensitivity and alertness. Any other person, most especially, the impatient and unnecessarily restless, would have missed that great vision, but not the sensitive Moses. This is why God commissioned him for the main work He had for him.

God often speaks to us through seemingly ordinary situations. What has God been using to try to get your attention? Is it a new opportunity, a new challenge, or a new obstacle? Have you taken time to stop, look and listen? This could be the beginning of something new, and big. It could be a turning point for better. Most importantly, have you stopped to look and listen to God's attempt to woo you to the path of life through Christ? If not, you now have another opportunity to respond positively to your Creator's call.

PRAYER POINT:

1. Pray that God will deliver believers from unprofitable busyness.
2. Help me, Lord, to surrender my all unto you, so you can make of me what You determined for me before the beginning.
3. Pray for CAC Anosike Region, our father in the Lord, the Superintendent, and its officers at the various levels, as led by the Spirit of God.

DO HAVE A BLESSED DAY
