TH , FEBRUARY 2022

EXTRA READING FOR TODAY: Leviticus 8-10

READ: Matthew 8:1-4

1 When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him.

2 And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”

3 Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

4 And Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

MEMORISE: Therefore He is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them . Hebrews 7:25

EXPOSITION

Being capable is being able and efficient, having the ability to do something, permitting or being susceptible to something, while willingness is a readiness to do something without being coaxed, or compelled. Ability is what one is capable of doing. He has the skill involved, he is competent, and has the experience required to successfully carry out the task. Willingness is based on one's motivation and satisfaction.

One can be capable of doing something while the willingness will not be there. A medical doctor is capable of treating a sick person because he is skilled in that
field and has the experience, but he might not be willing to take up the task, because of some conditions, including lack of fund on the patient's part.

It is one thing to be capable of solving man's problem or to deliver someone from danger; it is another to be willing to do it. Our Lord Jesus Christ is both capable and willing to save, heal and deliver, even those who are battling with cancer as today is World Cancer Day. (Matt. 11:28).

He beckons on you to come with your heavy loads of sin, guilt, shame, pain, affliction, sorrow, trouble, sickness, infirmities, etc. He is ready to save and deliver you. He has all it takes to do it. For how long will you keep Him waiting?

Come now! His willingness to save and deliver us from all forms of attack from the devil and his cohorts is demonstrated in the fact that He came to redeem us when we least deserved it (Rom. 5:6ff). He came at the appointed time (Gal. 4:4). His willingness to redeem the undeserving humanity is evident in how He resiliently stood by His mission to save man despite the odds on the way.

As children of God, we should possess this attribute of our Lord Jesus Christ. As you have the capability to help others or solve a problem, show your willingness to do it (cf. Jn. 3:27). When there is a clarion call for duty in God's project, never hide your capability and willingness; do it joyfully (cf. 2 Cor. 9:6).

PRAYER POINT:

    1. I receive the grace and power to do all that is in my capacity to help the helpless and give hope to the hopeless.

    2. Pray that God will visit you in that area of your life where you desperately need His intervention.

    3. Pray for CAC Babajide Region, our father in the Lord, the Superintendent, and its officers at the various levels, as led by the Spirit of God.

DO HAVE A BLESSED DAY
