EXTRA READING FOR TODAY: Leviticus 14
READ: Psalms 34:1-22
1 I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
3 Oh, magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together.
4 I sought the LORD, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.
5 They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed.
6 This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel a of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.
8 Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
9 Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him.
10 The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing.
11 Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12 Who is the man who desires life, And loves many days, that he may see good?
13 Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit.
14 Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.
15 The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry.
16 The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
17 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all.
20 He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken.
21 Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned.
22
The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who
trust in Him shall be condemned.

EXPOSITION
Curiosity
is an eagerness to know, gather information, or learn about
something. Dinah, the only daughter of Jacob, who Leah bore for him,
went to see the daughters of the land. Her curiosity led her into
taking steps she ought not to have taken - seeing what was on the
other side of the world (cf. 2 Cor. 6:14). She left where she ought
to be to where she ought not to have been, and that singular action,
made her life miserable and desolate.
So many youths today have fallen into error because, they were curious to go to places they ought not to go. They hang out with those they ought not to be seen with. They are curious to see far beyond their reach into pornography, cultism, sexual escapades, drugs, etc., because of their vain curiosity and this, at the expense of their glorious future. He who desires seeing beyond what God reveals would end up seeing and experiencing his own hullabaloo.

Dinah
has a promising future, being the only daughter of her father. She
was definitely more secure in her father's house, but her vain
curiosity finished her. Imagine the desolation she would have been
through after - possibility of not getting married, and other
traumatic experiences. May we not short-change our own destinies, in
Jesus' name. Amen.

Satan usurped Eve's curiosity to occasion man's fall (Gen. 3:3-6). There is great danger in vain curiosity. Vain curiosity has led many into searching godless, cultic knowledge about God and the universe. They have ended up romancing the devil to their doom. Never be part of this evil. Vain curiosity doesn't affect the vainly curious alone, but also others around him. Dinah's action led to the massacre of several Shechemites, which Jacob later regretted and condemned. Godless curiosity leads down the dark path. Weigh your options before you allow your feelings to rule you.
PRAYER
POINT:
1. O Lord, destroy every inordinate affection for the things of the world in me, in Jesus' name.
2. Holy Spirit, help me to be sensitive enough and to act accordingly, when the devil tries to lure me into godlessness, in Jesus' name.
3. Pray for our youths that have fallen into error of prostitution, cultism, pornography, internet fraud, and other vices, that God will set them free.
DO HAVE A BLESSED DAY
