FIRE SCRIPTURE: 1 Corinthians 12:12-27

12 For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. 

13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. 

14 For in fact the body is not one member but many.

15 If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body?

 16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body?

 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? 

18 But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. 

19 And if they were all one member, where would the body be?

20 But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. 

21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” 

22 No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. 

23 And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, 

24 but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, 

25 that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.

 26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

27 Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.

In today's Fire Scripture, the Bible mentions vividly the importance of our relationship one to another in the body of Christ. Verse 27 of it says, "Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular." We are one body different parts functioning as eyes, ears, noses, feet, hands, yet all towards unity of purpose. An organ of the body, the foot cannot say because I am not the hand, or I am not the body, then I cannot work with others. Such attitudes will reduce the effectiveness of others and thus affect the entire body. That is why the issue of teamwork is very important. God created us to bear one another's burden and remain in good and loving relationship with each other.

Teamwork is all about different parts of the body working together to benefit the whole. Everyone is uniquely different and with personal strengths and weaknesses. When the parts are used properly, a team can be more capable, more efficient and achieve greater overall success than an individual working alone. The power of teamwork can be seen in nature with migration of geese. As the seasons change, large flocks of geese migrate by flying thousands of kilometres to their destination. These flocks contain hundreds of birds, each with limited capabilities to go the distance alone. However, if an individual bird decides to make this long journey by itself, in most cases it would undoubtedly fail. Contrarily, when all the birds work together as a flock, as a team, they reach their goal, arriving at their final destination.

As we can see further in 1 Corinthians 12, the Bible says that the body is one and hath many members, and all are members of one body, so also are we, as members of one Body which is Christ. Hence there should be no schism in the body, rather members should have the same mind, caring for one another. I pray that the Lord will give you the grace to be a great team worker, in Jesus' name.

MORNING

1. Holy Spirit of God, take control of my life, in the name of Jesus.
2. O Lord, arise and give me the burden for lost souls, in the name of Jesus.
3. O God my Father, make me a fisher of men, in the name of Jesus.

4. Holy Spirit, empower me to do exploits for You, in the name of Jesus.
5. Powers, attacking my spiritual life, die, in the name of Jesus.
6. I will not return to my Maker empty handed; I shall wear a crown of glory, by the power in the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
7. Father, establish every new convert in Your will and fill them with faith in You, in the name of Jesus.
