20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.

21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.

22 Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God. 

23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 

24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. 

25 But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:

YOU SHALL NOT BECOME A VICTIM OF PARENTAL CURSE, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

THE MESSAGE:

It is sad to know that there are many people who are labouring under the curses issued against them by their parents. Sometimes, under the manipulation of the devil, some people invite parental curses upon themselves. There are some too who become victims of parental curses through carelessness or stubbornness.

Reuben slept with his father's wife and his father cursed him. Look at the effect of that curse upon Reuben: 1 Chronicles 5:1-2 says, "Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was the firstborn; but, forasmuch as he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright. For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came the chief ruler; but the birthright was Joseph's: )"




Reuben lost his birthright and his inheritance to a far younger brother, Joseph. The punishment did not stop with him; it extended to his generations after him. What a pity! This is how serious parental curses can be.




I have seen men and women who needed to go to God in fasting and prayer to ask for mercy, forgiveness and restoration. It was after then that they had peace and their lives began to amend. Before then, they could not make headway in any of their endeavours.

Parental curses are not to be joked with. One must be careful not to provoke one's parents to anger to the extent of making them to issue curses. God frowns at disobedience or disloyalty to parents, be it biological parents, foster parents, parents-in-law or parents in the Lord. Therefore, care must be taken when dealing with any of these categories of parents.




Beloved, are you labouring under a parental curse? There is hope for you. First, you must give your life to Christ and become His child. Second, you should pray to God for mercy and forgiveness. Then use the appropriate Scriptures to break the curse and tell God to replace them with His blessings.






PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

1. Every curse pursuing my life, die, in the name of Jesus.
2. I shall not be a candidate of curses, in the name of Jesus.
3. My Father, deliver me from every curse of the enemy, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

4. My destiny, reject curses, in the name of Jesus.
5. I recover my glory from the strong man, in the name of Jesus.
6. O Lord, catapult me to my next level, in the name of Jesus.
7. My Father, my Glory and the Lifter of my head, promote me by fire, in the name of Jesus.
