READ:  Psalms 68:1-3

 

 

1 God shall arise, his enemies shall be scattered; and those who hate him shall flee before him!

2 As smoke is driven away, so you shall drive them away; as wax melts before fire, so the wicked shall perish before God!

3 But the righteous shall be glad; they shall exult before God; they shall be jubilant with joy!

EXPOSITION

There is a battle raging around us. It is an ongoing battle, not one we can choose to start, but one that is already started. It is a spiritual battle. You can't see it, but can most certainly see and feel it's effects-lives are badly impacted, people living ungodly lives, hurting one another with unkind words and actions, changing from good to bad, and then to downright ugly! The enemy, the devil, is like a roaring lion waiting for whom to devour, and as believers in Christ, we must arise, fight, win this spiritual battle at every level.

        Ultimately, Jesus has already won the battle at Calvary, but there are battles that Christians need to fight. Jesus fought His battle, and we have to fight ours. Jesus fought and won, so we don't fight for victory; we fight from victory! We fight not in our own strength, but in His strength. We fight not in our name, but in His Name! Psalms 68v1 entreats, *Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered; let those also who hate Him flee before Him.* When God arises, the enemies will scatter and collectively and individually we will win against Drug Abuse, illicit trafficking and all other vices in Jesus name.

           God arises in our midst when we honour Him in our lives, and we honour Him by living for Him as we surrender our desires to Him. We honour Him when we choose the path of righteousness and holiness.  We honour Him when we decide to follow His agenda and plans for our lives, not our own. When and where God arises, the enemies cannot remain; they flee and scatter!

        So, if we want victory in our daily battles, we just need to live for Jesus, following Him everyday! Be mindful of His presence wherever you go, talk to Him about your plans and decisions, follow the Holy Spirit's prompt leading, and obey, even though it seems hard, sometimes. You will start to see victory in your life. Do have a great day!

 

 

PRAYER POINT:

1. Thank God for giving us the victory through Jesus Christ our Saviour.

2. Confess: By faith, I fully appropriate Jesus' victory, and declare that I am more than conqueror, in Jesus' name.

3. Pray prophetically that, battles, against the Church be scattered by the blood of Jesus.
