BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Genesis 45-47

TEXT:  Joshua 19:24-39

24 The fifth lot came out for the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families.

25 And their territory included Helkath, Hali, Beten, Achshaph,

26 Alammelech, Amad, and Mishal; it reached to Mount Carmel westward, along the Brook Shihor Libnath.

27 It turned toward the sunrise to Beth Dagon; and it reached to Zebulun and to the Valley of Jiphthah El, then northward beyond Beth Emek and Neiel, bypassing Cabul which was on the left,

28 including [a]Ebron, Rehob, Hammon, and Kanah, as far as Greater Sidon.

29 And the border turned to Ramah and to the fortified city of Tyre; then the border turned to Hosah, and ended at the sea by the region of Achzib.

30 Also Ummah, Aphek, and Rehob were included: twenty-two cities with their villages.

31 This was the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages.

32 The sixth lot came out to the children of Naphtali, for the children of Naphtali according to their families.

33 And their border began at Heleph, enclosing the territory from the terebinth tree in Zaanannim, Adami Nekeb, and Jabneel, as far as Lakkum; [b]it ended at the Jordan.

34 From Heleph the border extended westward to Aznoth Tabor, and went out from there toward Hukkok; it adjoined Zebulun on the south side and Asher on the west side, and ended at Judah by the Jordan toward the sunrise.

35 And the fortified cities are Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Chinnereth,

36 Adamah, Ramah, Hazor,

37 Kedesh, Edrei, En Hazor,

38 Iron, Migdal El, Horem, Beth Anath, and Beth Shemesh: nineteen cities with their villages. 39 This was the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their villages.

KEY VERSE:

“This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their villages.” -  Joshua 19:39

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

Man cannot abort the plan of God to bless His people.

THE MESSAGE:

In a certain African country, a man looked over a large tract of uncultivated thick forest that stretched endlessly into the distance and concluded that God might still be in the business of creation. He thought God is still creating more land to accommodate man's insatiable appetite. He did not take into consideration the word of God that "on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made" (Genesis 2:2). He would not have to work again to add or subtract from what He concluded "was very good."

The Lord had a long shot of several centuries to come when men and women would spread all over the earth to fulfil His command: "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it..." (Genesis 1:28). So, as Joshua shared the lands in the Promised Land, there was enough for every tribe among the children of Israel. None of the offspring of Jacob was left out.

God makes conditional promises, as He did to Abraham that his descendants would be "as the stars of heaven, and as the sand... upon the sea shore..." because he obeyed His voice. Joshua and Caleb along with others who obeyed God made it to the land flowing with "milk and honey" while it was a sorrowful end for the rebels among them.

Today, the Lord is willing to supply the physical and spiritual needs of those who would believe in Him regardless of the difficulties in our present world. Christians must faithfully queue behind Jesus Christ as He leads us to heaven for the everlasting riches He has preserved for us.

DO HAVE A BLESSED DAY
