WHAT DOES IT TAKE YOU TO SELL YOUR CHRIST?

EXTRA READING FOR TODAY:  Jeremiah 34-37

READ:  Matthew 26:15-16

 

15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

 

 

 

MEMORISE:” And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.” -   Matthew 26:15

 

EXPOSITION

Judas was a very privileged person in the college of the apostles! He was entrusted with the College money! He was called by Jesus without any prior application. He was not a minister without portfolio; was appointed their finance minister! At the time Jesus was going through agony, he went to the enemies and asked: *What you are willing to give me if I hand him over to you* (v.15 NIV)? A good businessmen or marketer should be the one who sets the price for his products, but Judas was willing to sell his Master at any price!

          Let us look at this chronologically. In John 13v30, *KJV:He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night.* Luke 22v3-6 *KJV:Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them. And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money. And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.* Before Judas went out, he was receiving bread that supposed to give him life, the bread from the Bread of Life Himself. But Satan entered into him and ruined his life. That will not be your experience, in Jesus name.

        The question comes to us on daily basis: What does it take me to sell Christ? It is the belief of business people and politicians that everyone has a price tag! If Satan were to come to you and ask: 'What are you willing to take to sell your Lord? What price tag are you putting on your heaven, your destiny or that of your family? It is money, possession, power, or pleasure? Esau sold his future and birth-right for a morsel! Would you sell yours, too?

 

 

 

PRAYER POINT:

1. Lord, forgive me of any act of unfaithfulness to You.

2. Pray that the Lord will keep your heart sacred and inaccessible by the prince of darkness, in Jesus name.

3. Ask for the Spirit that refuses negotiation with Satan over your spirituality.
