SIGNS OF THE TIMES (2)

FIRE SCRIPTURE:  Matthew 24:3-12

3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 

5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 

6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for [a]all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 

7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, [b]pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 

8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 

10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 

11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 

12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

I PROPHESY UPON YOU THAT THE DARK SIGNS OF THE TIMES SHALL NOT FIND EXPRESSION IN YOUR LIFE, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

 

 

THE MESSAGE

 

Yesterday, we started looking at the "The signs of the Times", and so far it is clear that majority of the signs as explained by Jesus Christ are already with us. But the amazing thing is that many Christians are still living as though nothing is at stake. I hope you are not one of those who disregard divine warnings.

 

In our Bible reading for today's devotional we have seen more of the signs of the times: "For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. (Matthew 24:5). Indeed the world has witnessed the emergence of many false christs. Some people have boldly declared themselves to be Jesus. Many of us can still remember such strange elements in this country. These fake men have profound charismatic personality and deceptive nature by which they are able to enslave and imprison their followers mentally and spiritually. Unfortunately, some believers, because of one challenge or the other, have fallen victim to the whims and caprices of these counterfeit Christ. Many men who are also seeking for fame, wealth and positions have decided to mortgage their eternity by lining up behind these impostors. Beloved, you need to have a deep conviction about the great wonders the Lord can do for His children. Therefore, guard yourself against the trickery and antics of such men.

 

Other signs of the times are war and rumour. The news media are filled with devastating reportage on wars in many nations of the world today. Coming home to Africa, we are aware of raging wars in some countries, both on medium and large scale. The devil is instigating many of these senseless wars in order to keep on polluting our land. The Bible says, so ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land... (Numbers 35:33).

 

Also, many unprepared souls have been sent to eternal perdition. All these signs are supposed to be our constant reminder to always be prepared for the coming of our Master -- Jesus Christ. Are you born again? Are you preparing for eternity?

 

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

1. Thank You, Lord, for the redemption of my soul, in the name of Jesus.

2. Dark arrows of the end times fired to corrupt my life, come out and die, in the name of Jesus.

3. Holy Ghost fire, fortify my life against every form of satanic deception, in the name of the Jesus.

 

EVENING 

4. Holy Ghost fire, purify my entire life, in the name of Jesus.

5. Blood of Jesus, barricade my life from the invasion from hell, in the name of Jesus

6. Trap of the enemy assigned to catch me, catch fire, in the name of Jesus.

7. O Lord, more than ever before, defend Your interest in my life and family, in the name of Jesus.
