DIVINE TURNING POINT (I)

FIRE SCRIPTURE:   Genesis 12:1-9

 

1 Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.
2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

4 So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. 

5 Then Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother’s son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the [a]people whom they had acquired in Haran, and they departed to go to the land of Canaan. So they came to the land of Canaan. 

6 Abram passed through the land to the place of Shechem, as far as [b]the terebinth tree of Moreh. And the Canaanites were then in the land.

7 Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your [c]descendants I will give this land.” And there he built an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him. 

8 And he moved from there to the mountain east of Bethel, and he pitched his tent with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east; there he built an altar to the Lord and called on the name of the Lord. 

9 So Abram journeyed, going on still toward the [d]South.

THE MESSAGE:

 Abraham's life was full of turning point encounters. In Genesis 12, God instructed him to leave his land of

nativity, his family and brethren, and go to a land which He would show Him. Abraham obeyed God. God also pronounced seven blessings upon his life.

This marked a turning point in the life of Abraham and the beginning of an extraordinary relationship between him and God, producing transgenerational impacts and blessings. Abraham's life was without meaning, drection and impact before this encounter with God. So, the first benefit of a turning point encounter is that it will connect you to your divine purpose and give your life meaning, direction and impact! Check the lives of Abraham, Moses, David, Gideon, Peter, Paul, and so on. You will discover this timeless truth.

 

Abraham had other turning point encounters in Genesis 15 and 17. First, God changed his name from Abram to Abraham and Sarai's name to Sarah. This was also a major turning point in their lives. Through the divine name change, Abraham and Sarah were divinely connected to God; they became His own or His property. They were properly aligned to receive and enjoy the best that God had in store for their destinies. The Bible says that you shall be called by a new name which the mouth of the Lord shall name (Isaiah 62:2b). Name is an omen. Don't let an evil name hamper your destiny.

The level of grace, greatness and glory that God places in your life is directly proportional to the turning point encounters you have with Him. In Genesis 18 and 21, Abraham had yet other encounters with God. In Genesis, he received and entertained three heavenly visitors. His hospitality and generosity paid off. After their

sumptuous meal, the visitors asked, Where is thy wife, Sarah? Then they pronounced, "By this time next year,

Sarah will have a child for you." That was a major turning point in the life of Abraham, who was 100 years old and

Sarah, who was 90 years old. Finally, in Genesis 22, God tested Abraham's faith by asking him to sacrifice lsaac, his covenant child. Abraham obeyed and God's angel poured transgenerational blessings upon him.

 

Beloved, I pray that you will have a divine turming point encounter today, in the name of Jesus.

 

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

1. Father, give me a divine turning point encounter, in the name of Jesus.

2. O God, arise and give my life meaning, direction and impact, in the name of Jesus.

3. Mercy of God, Speak into my life and birth a glorious change, in the name of Jesus.

 

EVENING 

4. Any nam that is hindering my open heaven and turning point experience, die, in the name of Jesus.

5. Powers assigned to abort my glorious change, die by fire, in the name of Jesus.

6. Father, anything that You need to change in my life for me to experience divine change, change it now, in the name of Jesus.

7. My heaven of turnaround breakthroughs, open now by fire, in the name of Jesus.
